I got a semi- persian kitten on 17th March, 2012. She was already named 'Soxy' by her mother's owners because her paws were white much like socks ( and ironically, she loves socks)
She had the most feeble voice and her face was filled with a child like innocence i've seen nowhere and the instant I got her home, she immediately accustomed herself to the surroundings. Although, my mother was much against the whole idea of getting a new member to the family in the first place. Time did the trick and my mother has had a change of heart and I can confidently say that my mother loves Poo ( her changed name) as much as I love her and during one of those times where poo's mischievousness knows no bounds and I end up shouting at her, my mother comes to her rescue and lovingly talks to her leaving me standing there, feeling guilty for having yelled at that innocent little sister of mine.
My father ritually gets snacks for us ever since we were little, always a packet of chips, chocolates and stuff. But, now, he makes sure to pick a toy or a little something for Poo. Yes, we love her a lot! Oh, but, yeah, Poo does have a sort of nemesis at home too- my second elder brother, Sunny.
Sunny has a strange vulnerability where animals are concerned, always afraid that he would get attacked or bitten (he was no friend to Poo). Poo found herself uncomfortable in his presence too. LOL. Yet, every time he comes home the first thing he says is, " where is the kitty?". Maybe he wanted to know just to be sure that he wouldn't have an unwelcome attack from her ( which BTW is just her paw that she hits him with, no teeth involved- -yet) But, I know that deep down, somewhere he really loves her too.
She is 3 months old now and she got her new kitty collar today. It freaked her out a little but now, she is happily napping away in our room.
